Trunk or Treat

Last night was the Georgetown ward's Chili Cook-Off and Trunk or Treat. Being in the Primary presidency, I was one of the judges. Good thing I was judging cornbread. It seems Jenna must take after me...she didn't really seem to care for chili. John brought up a crock pot full of chili and came home with an empty crock pot so it must have been good! Jenna just might have been the cutest ladybug there last night!! Not quite sure she understood the whole trick or treating thing. She looked more like a lost and confused ladybug running in circles in the parking lot. In order to get any candy we had to carry our screaming ladybug to all the cars!! But Jenna did have a great time last night! Here's my cute ladybug...

Birthday Party!!

Grammy and Poppy came down for Jenna's 1st Birthday Party! We had so much fun with them even though it was a quick trip. Jenna sure loves her Grammy and Poppy. Here are some of the pictures from her party day.

Grammy letting her eat a sucker for breakfast...
Such a yummy sucker...

and stick!

Party Time! Banner on the front door.

Pizza for lunch

and then cupcakes.

Jenna was so cute. We helped her blow out her candle and she was a little hesitant to put her hands in the cake until she tasted the icing. She soon realized that, because her hands were still full of frosting, it was much easier to eat without hands so she started lowering her face to the cake instead.

Grammy and Poppy
Jenna's FAVORITE present! She loved it! I'd been wanting to get one of these for a while and Grammy found a very cute one. As soon as we opened it Jenna insisted on getting on...we couldn't even get it out of the box before she climbed on!

"Keep your hands off my toy!!"
.
We had a lot of fun and can't believe our baby girl turned 1!!

Cooking up some Fun!

Just a few cute pictures from the other day. Daddy pushed her around and she had a blast! Loved her expressions in some of these!!

Play Time!!

Just a few pictures John took of Jenna last week. She is so cute when she plays by herself! I thought the lighting was kind of cool...

I do realize this is blurry but she has SO much fun pushing things all around the house that I just couldn't resist putting this on here!!

Mammoth Caves

Labor Day weekend we went camping at Mammoth Caves. It was our first time there and Jenna's first time camping. Our friends stayed the entire weekend...we braved one night! Jenna did pretty good. I would have slept pretty good if the sleeping bags weren't so noisy, if it hadn't been so cold, if someone's dogs hadn't started barking around 1:00 am, and if the little plug on my air mattress had been closed so the air stayed in!! :) Monday we took a short tour of Mammoth Cave before heading home for much needed naps. Next time we'll have to do some hiking and take some of the longer tours. It's really pretty there...it reminded John and I little bit of Michigan.

At the campsite. No, this was not our tent...ours was smaller than this.

At the Visitor's Center waiting for the tour.
.
A look down at the cave entrance...yes, it's a little dark down there!! (Which is why I didn't get any good pictures.)

Headed down into the cave.

We survived!!

There is a great picnic area where we had lunch before heading home.

Lame Duck 2010

On Saturday, July 31st John completed his first triathlon! He swam 0.54 miles, biked 9.1 miles, and ran 2.6 miles. He did great...finished in 1 hour, 41 min, 15 seconds. And I'll admit I was a little worried...it was a very hilly course and John hadn't trained very much. But I think the worst that happened was he lost his oatmeal on the side of the road while biking! Now it's on to the next triathlon! Here are a few pictures from the Lame Duck.
